Magnetic field enhancement of dielectronic recombination from a continuum of finite bandwidth

摘要
We have examined dielectronic recombination of Ba+ and e(-) from a continuum of finite bandwidth. Applying magnetic fields of up to 240 G perpendicular to small electric fields from 0.1 to 5 V/cm increases the recombination rate, while applying the magnetic field parallel to the electric field does not change the rate. The largest magnetic field enhancement observed was approximately 50%.
