摘要：

The review covers Structures, chemical properties and synthesis of calystegines. Occurrence ill the plant kingdom, analysis in plant material and biological properties are also summarised. An emphasis is laid oil the biosynthesis of the nortropane alkaloids and on the enzymes and genes that are involved. The literature from 1988 Lip to August 2003 is reviewed. and 150 references are cited.
