Simple and efficient reduction of nitroarenes by hydrazine in faujasite zeolites

摘要
Nitroarenes are reduced efficiently by hydrazine hydrate inside the cages of trivalent metal ion-exchanged faujasite zeolites. Substituted nitro compounds also undergo faster and selective reduction. Other advantages of employing zeolites as media during the title reduction such as higher yield, mildness of reaction conditions, reusability and chemoselectivity, are also highlighted.
