The future of computer technology has been discussed and according to Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers fellow Robert Hecht-Nielsen, HNC software cofounder and long-time artificial intelligence visionary, the future will be very different indeed. He contends that, by the year 2012, the computer industry will spawn several new industries with a cumulative size of 100 times today's computer industry and 10 times today's automobile industry. Everybody will have a computer and will be wearing it. The key products will be a laurel wreath, data glasses, a cone-of-silence microphone, and a pocket pack.
