Stopping power of a quantum plasma - T-matrix approximation and dynamical screening

The stopping power is considered for a dense fully ionized plasma in a binary collision approximation including dynamical screening in the weak coupling term. The approach is based on an idea first given by Gould and DeWitt starting from the Boltzmann and Lenard-Balescu equations [Phys. Rev. 155 (1967) 68]. In this way, strong multiple scattering as well as collective effects are included in the theory. Explicit results are presented for the stopping power of an electron beam running into a quantum electron gas, and a comparison is given of the approximation schemes using the pure statically screened T-matrix, the dynamical RPA screening, and using the combined scheme proposed by Gould and DeWitt.
