A study of the gas-phase behaviour of [Os6(CO)18] and its high yield synthesis using UV laser desorption/ionisation mass spectrometry

摘要
The ultraviolet laser desorption/ionisation time-of-flight mass spectra of [Os-6(CO)(18)] recorded in both the positive and negative mode exhibit features that correlate with the macroscopic physiochemical properties of the cluster. In addition, hexanuclear clusters, related to [Os-6(CO)(18)], are the major products of the laser desorption/ionisation of [Os-3(CO)(10)(NCMe)(2)] and [H2Os3(CO)(10)], paralleling macroscopic synthetic protocols.
