Effect of fluoride additives on glass formation in the SiO2-CaO-Al2O3 System

摘要
Experimental data were used to assess the effect of fluoride additives commonly used in glass manufacturing on the physicochemical processes involved in glass formation in the SiO2-CaO-Al2O3 system. The results, combined with thermodynamic analysis, demonstrate that the fluoride additives have different effects on the reaction rates and melt homogeneity. The latter was shown to influence the properties of the glass-ceramics obtained.
