Entropy-dominating strong binding of carboxylate anions to protonated aminocyclodextrin

摘要
Protonated heptakis(6-amino-6-deoxy)-beta-cyclodextrin complexes with p-methylbenzoate and N-acetylrryptophan anions more strongly than a monoamino-beta-cyclodextrin cation. Such a strong association is dominated by large and positive entropy changes for complexation which might be due to extensive dehydration from both host and guest upon complexation.
