Thermal stability of mechanically alloyed Zr-Cu-Al-Ni glass composites containing ZrC particles as a second phase

摘要
Mechanically alloyed Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 metallic glass matrix composites powders containing up to 30 vol% of ZrC particles were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. It is shown that the supercooled liquid behaviour is not affected by the presence of the particles, but changes in the thermal stability suggest deviations in the overall composition of the glassy matrix.
