摘要
We present the fundamental problem of polar oxide Surfaces and overview the different models for the stabilization of their diverging surface energy. We focus on contributions from ex situ and in situ electron microscopy and diffraction techniques toward distinguishing between competing stabilization mechanisms in oxides with rock-salt structure.
