N-isopropyl-2-(isopropylamino)troponiminate complexes of lithium and calcium

The synthesis and structures of [(i-Pr)(2)ATI]Li-2(thf)(I)(1) and [(i-Pr)(2)ATI]Ca(thf)(2)(I)(2)Li-2(thf)(2)[(i-Pr)(2)ATI] (2) (where [(i-Pr)(2)ATI] = N-isopropyl-2-(isopropylamino)troponiminate) have been described. The lithium atoms in compounds I and 2 occupy positions above and below the plane of the aminotroponiminate ligand. The calcium atom in 2 adopts a pseudo-octahedral geometry with two tetrahydrofurans occupying the trans-positions. Compound 1 crystallizes as dimeric units.
