摘要
Cubic Sm3Te4 can be characterized as a semiconducting, inhomogeneous mixed-valence system. No evidence of charge ordering has been found. The magnetization density was previously measured at 1.5K using polarized neutrons with a magnetic field applied along a twofold axis: the Sm atoms are distributed on two subsites with very different induced moments. A new experiment performed with the field applied along a fourfold axis at two temperatures (T = 1.5 and 100 K) shows the role of the anisotropy of the Sm3+ ions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
