Crystal structure and magnetic properties of a mu-halogeno-bridged copper(II) chain with neutral planar [Cu(batt)Cl] units (Hbatt=1,3-bis[3-(5-amino-1,2,4-triazolyl)]triazene)

摘要
The structure of [Cu(batt)Cl]. H2O (Hbatt=1,3-bis[3-(5-amino-1,2,4-triazolyl)]triazene) has been obtained by X-ray diffraction methods. The new ligand Hbatt acts as a tridentate chelate. Quasi-planar [Cu(batt)Cl] units are interconnected through axial Cu-Cl' interaction, which leads to a stair-like, mu-halogeno bridged chain structure. Magnetic susceptibility and EPR measurements indicate weak antiferromagnetic coupling in the chains.
