摘要
Spontaneous emission control for rare earth ions implanted inside planar multidielectric microcavities is investigated experimentally. An optical microcavity is a structure with one or more spatial dimensions of the order of an optical wavelength. These structures have received recently much attention with respect to demonstrating fundamental changes in the spontaneous emission of active material placed within the cavity. We study the modifications induced by the cavity on the emission spectrum, the radiation pattern and the lifetime. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
