摘要：

The Field Pipette Withdrawal Tube (FIPIWITU) is described and some results of measurements in the Elbe river are presented. The instrument determines in situ settling velocities of suspended silt particles <53 mu m. It is based on the principle of the Andreasen-Essenwein pipette.
