Synthesis of nano-CdxZn1-xS by precipitate-hydrothermal method and its photocatalytic activities

摘要
A novel and simple chemical approach involved in precipitate-hydrothermal processes is described to synthesize nanocrystalline CdS, ZnS and CdxZn1-xS. The as-prepared samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, PL and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The lattice structure gradually changes from hexagonal to cubic with increasing percentage of Zn in the ternary compound CdxZn1-xS. The UV-vis and PL spectra indicate that the optical properties of the obtained nanocrystals can be continuously modulated by tuning their compositions. CdxZn1-xS also showed the high photocatalytic activity in degradation of methyl orange under visible light, and the remnant ratio is 3-13% for 1 h. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
