The effect of strain rate on the room temperature tensile properties of single crystal superalloys

摘要
The nickel base superalloys N5, CMSX2, CMSX6, CMSX11B and PWA1483, with rafted structure, exhibited marked drop in tensile ductility, depending on the strain rate, in moist environment at room temperature. Additionally, the embrittelement behaviour of these alloys was accompanied by fracture on {100} planes. This strain rate dependent embrittelement of rafted superalloys is similar to the environmental effects observed in Ni3Al. (C) 2002 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
