摘要
This article describes the history of emergency medical services for children and identifies important mental health issues. It discusses the roles of psychologists in such services, including intervening with children and their families during times of crisis, helping others who are providing the physical care of children to mitigate rather than exacerbate children's emotional distress, and attending to the emotional needs of health care providers who treat children.
