Full-scale acoustic experiments on a TGV are performed with on-board measurement techniques. Some spectral characteristics of the intercoach spacing and the bogie region are highlighted and interpreted. Two measurement techniques are described; they both extract the acoustical information of a particular aerodynamic source from the signal given by a flow imbedded probe. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
