Friction-stir welding of magnesium alloy AZ31B

摘要
Magnesium alloy AZ31B was welded by friction-stir-welding (FSW). The alloy exhibited the same variations of microstructure as other FSW materials: dynamically recrystallized, equiaxed grains in the FSW zone. There was no loss of residual weld-related strength indicating that FSW joining would be very satisfactory for other, similar magnesium alloys.
