Cerebral amyloid angiopathy as a cause of recurrent small cortical strokes is under-recognised. These patients need haemosiderin-sensitive MRI to make a diagnosis and intensive antiplatelet treatment is dangerous. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
