The various perspectives and challenges in tissue engineering and regenerative medicines are discussed. Several scientists had also done work where they used two dimensional scaffolds composed of natural polymers such as collagen as scaffolds for tissue regenerative devices. A new system with a highly porous structure to meet the needs of mass transfer of oxygen and nutrients for a large number of cells is also developed. There are many examples of new polymer scaffolds which are being developed. It have been reviewed in various papers but some of these challenges include creating the right kind of materials for cell transplantation, developing methods of tissue and cell preservation for long times in storage, inducing appropriate blood vessel and nerve growth for the tissues, and preventing tissue and cell rejection.
