Manifestations arising from the lungs and other chest structures may, at times, form the center of the clinical picture of Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF). These manifestations include the febrile episodes of pleuritis and a large array of neoplastic, obstructive, parenchymal, inflammatory, and vascular conditions. This article features the clinical picture and underlying mechanisms of the pulmonary associations of FMF, with particular attention to recent advances made in this unique episodic febrile disease.
