摘要
Sedoheptulose-1, 7-bisphosphatase (SBPase, EC 3.1.3.37) regulates the flow of carbon through the Calvin cycle. To investigate its regulatory character and expression pattern, the gene encoding SBPase in rice has been cloned by RACE. A full-length cDNA with an open reading frame of 1179 bp that encodes 392 amino acid residues was obtained from an indica rice variety, 93-11. The OsSbp is a single locus gene in the rice genome. It is localized in the region of 8.42-8.59 Mb on the short arm of chromosome 4, flanked by markers R288 and S11182. RT-PCR analysis revealed that OsSbp gene is expressed in all the tissues we tested, and OsSbp transcript level can be dramatically boosted by light illumination. Its expression is down-regulated by externally applied NaCl, ABA, MeJA and glucose over 24 h, whereas up-regulated by GA after 24 h treatments. These results indicated that OsSbp gene expression is modulated by these factors at multiple levels.
