Levitation of a microscopic object using plural optical fibers

摘要
The optical levitation of a micrometer-sized transparent particle using optical fibers is successfully demonstrated and discussed. A microsphere laid at the bottom of a sample chamber could easily be levitated against gravity using plural optical fibers. The levitated object could be transferred in 3-D space by moving the optical fibers. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
