摘要
The precursor for nitric oxide (NO) synthesis is the amino acid arginine. Reduced arginine availability may limit NO production. Arginine availability for NO synthesis may be regulated by de novo arginine production from citrulline, arginine transport across the cell membrane, and arginine breakdown by arginase. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd.
