摘要：

Two recent benchmarking effort for multimedia retrieval systems development showed great promise for letting the multimedia retrieval community collaborate on advancing the state of the art. These are the TREC Video Retrieval Evaluation (TRECVID) and the IAPR TC-12 benchmark for visual information search. These benchmarks are expected to be useful for diverse applications.
