Cartormin, a novel semi-quinone chalcone sharing a pyrrole ring C-glycoside, was isolated from Carthamus tincrorius L. and its structure was established from various spectral data and a single-crystal X-ray analysis. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
