A photoinduced spin transition iron(II) complex with liquid-crystal properties

摘要
The synthesis of a material exhibiting spin-crossover, light-induced excited spin-state trapping (LIESST) and liquid-crystal properties were analyzed. The concurrence in molecular-based materials was obtained with the help of geometrical flexibility of molecules. The spin-cross over, LIESST and liquid crystal properties in a single material were applied in the design of a variety of optically switchable molecular compounds. The liquid-crystalline properties of complex were confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
