摘要：

The use of proton therapy in the treatment of cancer is discussed. Protons loose energy after passing through tissue and deposit dose gradually. Proton therapy is useful in the treatment of childhood tumors because of its ability to spare healthy tissue. The reduced doses delivered by protons to healthy tissue improve the patient's tolerance to combined treatments.
