摘要
Electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) can be used to distinguish between the different phases of multicomponent scales on interstitial free steel. It is also possible to reveal the microstructure within the scale, yielding more information than other techniques, where no microstructural information is obtained. This method of scale identification is under development but it is hoped that different scales with more complex chemical compositions can be distinguished using this method.
