Magnetic and electrical properties of the filled skutterudite-type compound EuRu4P12

摘要
We report the first results on the electrical resistivity. the magnetic susceptibility and magnetization measurements of single-crystalline EuRu4P12. The compound crystallizes in the cubic structure of the filled skutterudite type, Single crystals of EuRu4P12 were grown in a molten Sn flux. The resistivity shows metallic behavior and decreases sharply below 18 K. The magnetic measurements point to Ferromagnetic behavior below 18 K. At high temperatures, the susceptibility follows a Curie-Weiss behavior for the three main cubic unit-cell directions. The effective high-temperature moments and the saturation magnetization are slightly smaller than those of Eu2+ ion. This Fact implies that the presence of about 10% of Eu3+.
