摘要
This paper presents a strategy to generate interference-free tool paths for machining sculptured surfaces. The strategy proposed here is first to determine the tool path topology. The values of the step length and the path interval are then calculated based on the machining tolerance requirements. After detecting and eliminating the tool interference, the interference-free tool path is generated. The effectiveness of the developed algorithm is demonstrated through simulation and actual cutting tests. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
