Processing of controlled porosity ceramic structures via fused deposition

摘要
Controlled porosity 3D honeycomb ceramic structures were fabricated by using fused deposition process. Thermoplastic molds were fabricated directly from its CAD data description and then infiltrated with ceramic slurry, which was then subjected to binder removal and sintering cycles. Alumina ceramics were successfully used for the fabrication of these structures. Parts with different pore sizes, pore geometry and pore volume were fabricated using this approach.
