Recently, Shi and Tomita [Phy. Lett. A 296 (2002) 161] have suggested the teleportation of an unknown state by W state. However, there are several incorrect terms such as calculations of a coefficient and a probability, which gives wrong results. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
