Real time STM observation of Ostwald ripening of Pd nanoparticles on TiO2(110) at elevated temperature

摘要
We have developed a simple procedure for preparation of Pd nanoclusters on TiO2, (110) with a bimodal distribution of particle sizes. The evolution of the size distribution observed in real time at high temperatures by scanning tunnelling microscopy is consistent with an Ostwald ripening mechanism for cluster growth.
