摘要
We report the observation of mid-infrared multiphoton excitation, dissociation, and ionization of C-60 by shaped CO2 laser pulses. The results are interpreted in the framework of the general statistical theory of infrared laser chemistry, adding some simple model assumptions. The observations on intensity-and fluence-dependent fragment ion distributions are consistent with a mechanism of vibrational preionization from energies exceeding the threshold for ionization by about a factor of 8.
