Comparison of zinc and cadmium coordination environments in synthetic analogues of carbonic anhydrase: Synthesis and structure of {[Pim(Pri,But)]Cd(OH2)(OClO3)}(ClO4)

摘要
The cadmium complex {[Pim(Pri,But)]Cd(OH2)(OCLO(3))}-(ClO4), synthesized by the reaction of Cd(ClO4)(2) . 6H(2)O with Pim(Pri,But), has been structurally-characterized by X-ray diffraction; comparison with its zinc counterpart {[Pim(Pri,But)]ZnOH}(ClO4) reveals structural and chemical differences between the metals in environments that are closely related to the active site of carbonic anhydrase.
