摘要
Surgery continues to be the primary treatment for malignant melanoma. Significant progress has been made in defining appropriate surgical therapy for various stages of the disease. Much of this progress has come from basic science research, which has helped develop active adjuvant therapies and molecular staging approaches. These advances have allowed the surgeon to undertake a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of melanoma and to provide better outcomes for patients with this disease.
