The theoretical developments and formulations of part (I) of these two-part companion papers are applied here to three practical examples, namely a 15-hp permanent magnet brushless de machine, a 1.2 hp three phase induction motor, and a 14.3 kVA modified Lundell alternator. The excellent correlation between computed and test results for inductance profiles, steady-state terminal voltage waveforms and steady-state time-domain developed torque profiles verify the reliability and well posedness of the energy/current perturbation approach in electric machinery problems involving both 2D-FE and 3D-FE magnetic field solutions.
