摘要
'Quality steel' is being continuously redefined on the basis of customer requirements, but to gain competitive advantage it is imperative that supplier and customer analyse problems at source, rather than resorting to additional remedial processes which add cost to the product and probably no more value. This philosophy is discussed in the context of distortion and flatness requirements for thin plate supplied to the shipbuilding industry.
