The synthesis of yttrium oxide (Y2O3) nestlike microstructure through a facile hydrothermal process followed by subsequent heat treatment of the precursor at 500°C for 2 h is presented. The nestlike Y(OH)3 And yttrium oxide nanostructures exhibited unique geometrical shapes, which could lead to important applications in scientific research and technological applications. All the chemical reagents used in the the experiment were analytically graded and used without further purification. The XRD patterns of all the samples were recorded and microstructures of the product were obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Observations of showed that the nestlike yttrium oxide nanostructures consist of nanosheets in a highly close-packed assembly. This method could allow fabrication of other organic materials with controllable phase and shapes.
