In-situ Ti-TiB metal-matrix composite prepared by a reactive pressing process

摘要
Four reactive systems - Ti-B, Ti-TiB2, Ti-B4C and Ti-BN - were employed to fabricate in-situ titanium matrix composites by the reactive pressing technique. The microstructure and compressive mechanical property of the composites were examined. Results showed that the composite fabricated from the Ti-B4C system exhibited a higher strength compared to that fabricated from the Ti-TiB2 system.
