摘要
The preparation, some characterizations, and the reactivity of the homogeneous complex of Mo(VI) with 4,6-di-methyl-2-mercaptopyrimidine ligand (DMMP) were carried out. Elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) revealed that Mo(VI) becomes coordinated with two DMMP molecules. The resulting complex was found to be highly effective in 1-octene epoxidation with ethylbenzene hydroperoxide (EBHP) in liquid phase. This complex was soluble in the reaction media and its catalytic activity proved to be lower than that of MoO2(acac)(2), although its solubility rate in the reaction media was somewhat slower. This drawback was avoided by adding the complex dissolved in ethanol. In this case, the catalysts appeared to be highly active and selective in the target reaction when working at 367 K.
