Corrosion potential behavior of noble metal-modified alloys in high-temperature water

摘要
The effect of Pd or Pt additions on electrochemical corrosion potential (ECP) behavior of various alloys was investigated in 288 degrees C water containing oxygen (O-2) hydrogen (H-2), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Data showed the noble-metal alloying additions improved catalytic efficiency for recombination of O-2 and H-2 on the surface and lowered ECP for intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) protection when stoichiometric excess H, was present.
