Quantum noise reduction in lasers

摘要
The intensity noise of semiconductor lasers was brought below shot noise by about 30 % using constant current supply together with line narrowing techniques. This result is shown to be in good agreement with theoretical predictions of a laser theory including regulated pumping. The latter theory is applied to the case of Nd:YVO4 microlasers pumped by the sub-shot noise semiconductor lasers.
