摘要
Confocal instrumentation makes it possible to carry out spectroscopic measurements with a very high signal-to-background ratio. The transit of a single fluorescent molecule through the focal point of the light can be monitored with this method. The particle transport can be observed in transparent microchannels. Examples of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and single molecule handling in microstructures are discussed. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
