On an implementation of a front tracking method for hyperbolic conservation laws

摘要
An implementation of a numerical method for solving a class of partial differential equations, known as hyperbolic conservation laws, is discussed. The solution of these equations may contain discontinuities. This feature makes them difficult to solve numerically. The numerical method to be considered, a front tracking method, is among the more successful methods. The structure of this specific method makes it suitable for an implementation where concepts from object-oriented programming are utilized. Examples from the C++ code are included.
