Effect of grain size distribution on recording performance in longitudinal thin film media

摘要
Micromagnetic simulations have been performed to compare longitudinal thin film media with and without a grain size distribution. Hysteresis loops and dibit recording are evaluated for various exchange interactions. The results show that the grain size distribution reduces effects of both intergranular exchange and magnetostatic interactions.
