Crystallization and phase separations in amorphous Cu12.5Ni10Zr41Ti14Be22.5 alloy, as investigated by SANS

摘要
Small-angle neutron scattering has been used to investigate crystallization and phase separation of amorphous CU12.5Ni10Zr41Ti14Be22.5 around the crystallization point. It was found that the kinetics of crystallization depended strongly on thermal history of the alloy and was considerably slowed down in the alloy which acquired full relaxation in the supercooled liquid range. For the fully relaxed alloy, further phase separation of the microstructure at the crystallization point, in parallel to crystallization, was observed. The achieved microstructure consisted of droplet-like disordered phase embedded in the similarly disordered matrix, besides the crystalline phases. We have converged the late stage's scattering events with the dynamic scaling, demonstrating the dynamic scaling property of the phase separation.
